Planning Commission finalizes Annual Plan of Rs. 51,000 cr for Gujarat for yr 2012-13

The Planning Commission today finalized the Annual Plan of 51 thousand crore rupees of Gujarat for the year 2012-13. The Plan has been approved in a meeting between Deputy Chairman of Commission, Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Chief Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Ahluwalia pointed out that the state has been registering a robust growth but human development indicators were not matching the pace of economic growth. He said more attention will be needed in achieving more sustainable growth in agriculture and for addressing the problems of malnutrition. He said the State needs to further promote public private partnership in infrastructure development. Mr. Modi said the state is committed to provide better health care to the poor and vulnerable sections of the society.
