The Planning Commission has finalized an annual plan size worth of 42,000 crore rupees for Maharashtra for the year 2011-12. The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held in New Delhi between Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Montek Singh Ahluwalia and the Chief Minister of Maharashtra,Mr Prithvi Raj Chavan. Mr. Ahluwalia appreciated the efforts of the State Government in improving the pace of development and making development more inclusive. He said the State Government’s performance in sectors including agriculture, health and transport is appreciable.
