The Planning Commission has brought out sector wise infrastructure targets on its website from Monday. The portal contains quarterly and yearly targets in the sectors of power, road, transport, highways, ports, civil aviation and railways. The Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Dr. Montek Singh Ahulawalia while inaugurating the website said that this will bring transparency and accountability for achieving the targets. He also said that there will be a quarterly and yearly review of these targets and if there are any problems, these can be discussed by the Cabinet Committee on infrastructure. Each of the sectors contains project wise details and areas covered under the sector. The initiative comes ahead of the completion of one year of UPA's second innings.
