Planning Commission approves Bihar’s Annual Plan

The Planning Commission has approved the Annual Plan of Bihar for 2011 – 2012. The plan outlay will be 24 thousand crore rupees. This is 20 pwecwnt more than the current year's.The decision was taken at a meeting between Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Talking to reporters after the meeting in New Delhi, Ahluwalia said that development is taking place in Bihar but the State government needs to focus on the power sector.Nitish Kumar said that the approved plan will help to take forward the development schemes in the state. He said that the Plan size has now been increased to 24000 crore rupees for the next financial year which was only 4676 crore rupees in the year 2005-06.
