The Planning Commission has approved 42,000 crore rupees Plan outlay for Uttar Pradesh for the current financial year. It also includes an additional Central assistance of 4,300 crore rupees. Chief Secretary Atul Kumar Gupta finalised state plan with the Commission member Mr. B K Chaturvedi in New Delhi. Mr. Gupta has sought for 7,000 crore rupees additional Central assistance for the state. An official spokesperson told AIR Lucknow correspondent that last year state had been provided about 4000 crore rupees as additional central assistance. State Government has demanded nearly 22,000 crore rupees from center as financial assistance to implement Right to Education Act. The state has also demanded to bring all blocks of Mirzapur, Sonebhadra and Bundelkhand region under Drought Prone Areas Programme to promote overall economic development and improving the socio-economic conditions of the resource poor and disadvantaged sections. <br/>
