The Planning Commission has approved 1,950 crore rupees annual Plan for Tripura for 2011-12. The state's annual Plan for next fiscal was finalised in New Delhi in a meeting between Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Chief Minister of Tripura Manik Sarkar. Commenting on Tripura's performance, Mr Ahluwalia complimented the state for empowering Panchayati Raj institution.Speaking to reporters, Sarkar said, tax revenue has improved and salary expenditure has been controlled. He said skill development and vocational education is being given priority.
