The Planning Commission on Thursday finalized an annual plan outlay of 15,862 crore rupees for Delhi for the year 2012-13. This was approved at a meeting in New Delhi between Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, Mr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Chief Minister of Delhi, Mrs Sheila Dikshit.In his comments, Mr Ahluwalia said that the performance of the State in all sectors is appreciable. He said that Delhi has taken a number of initiatives which have helped in expediting pace of development. He said that the process of 12th plan finalization is nearing completion and he would request all States to suggest measures which they would like to be adopted in the plan that could improve efficiency of central schemes.In her comments on plan strategy for the current fiscal and 12th plan, Mrs Dixit said the Government would work to give Delhi a image of a caring city where every citizen proudly aspires to and secured feature for himself and his family.
