Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Prof P.J. Kurien today directed the Government to take steps to prevent suicidal deaths of students due to stress created by coaching centres. The directive has come from the Chair following complaints from several members saying that the increasing pressure from coaching centres and parents on students to fulfil their ambition is forcing several students to take the extreme step. <br/><br/>Raising the issue during zero hour, Viplova Thakur of the Congress urged the Government to bring a new law to regulate and coaching centres mushrooming across the Country in this regard. Responding to this, Information and Broadcasting Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu assured the Chair that he will convey the feeling of the members to the HRD minister.
