Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal today kick started Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojna in Uttar Pradesh by inaugurating it in Basti? district of the state. Addressing the people on this occasion in Kaptanganj town of Basti, he said that under the scheme separate power lines will be made available to farmers on the pattern of Gujarat. <br/><br/>He said that all the villages under Gorakhpur and Basti division will be electrified in next three years under the scheme. Goyal said that under power saving measures, the LED bulbs will be made available to people for Rs 74 only. The central government will spend Rs 500 crore for the power betterment of Basti district, Goyal said.
