Power Minister Piyush Goyal today launched the web portal and a Mobile App for the Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana – UDAY. Speaking on the occsaion, Mr Goyal said, India has not only become a power surplus nation, but it has also become an enabler, supplier of power to the neighboring countries. He said, collective efforts of the states has enabled India to become a power surplus country. <br/><br/>Mr Goyal informed that India had supplied an additional 80 megawatts of power to Nepal this year. The Minister said, government embarked upon the mission to take electricity to every home and working with the states to ensure it. The Minister said, UDAY map is inching towards covering all of India. He said, schemes for recognising well-performing DISCOMs under UDAY will further encourage other states to join the scheme.
