An Algerian cargo ship and its crew of 27 have been seized by pirates off the coast of Oman. The 26 thousand tonne ship was sailing to Dar- es Salam in Tanzania when it was attacked. Earlier a Mozambican flag ship was seized by Somali pirates in the 400 kilometers south-west of the Comoros islands. The European Union's anti-piraty task force says, 28 vessels and more than 650 hostages are currently being held by pirates in the region.
