Pirates have hijacked a ship with 23 crew members in the Gulf of Guinea which become an increasingly dangerous area for international shipping. The International Maritime Bureau said, the pirates seized a Cypriot-flagged tanker on Wednesday about 115 kilometers south-west of Porto-Novo, capital of the West African nation of Benin. While pirates in West Africa tend to attack ships for their cargo, pirates from East Africa, usually Somalia, hold the crew for ransom.
