The Allahabad High Court has dismissed the Public Interest Litigation challenging Election Commission’s order of covering statues of Bahujan Samaj Party symbol Elephants.The Bench comprising Justice Amar Saran and Justice Ramesh Sinha on Tuesday dismissed the grounds on which PIL was filed.Earlier the High Court bench had reserved its order on 16th January after completion of hearing on this issue.In view of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections the Election Commission had ordered on 7th of this month for covering of BSP party symbol ‘Elephant Statues ‘mainly put up in the state capital Lucknow and in Gautam Buddhnagar district.
