'Phyan' crosses north Maharashtra coast sparing Mumbai, South Gujarat; rain forecast in next 24 hours

<br/>The severe Cyclonic storm 'Phyan' crossed the north Maharashtra coast last evening between Alibag and Mumbai sparing South Gujarat without much damage.<br/><br/>According to Met department, the deep depression moved over North-Centre Maharashtra and weakened into depression.<br/><br/>However, the district administration in South Gujarat has been asked to remain alert following heavy rainfall warning in coastal district of south Gujarat.<br/><br/>AIR Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that most of the fishing boats ventured into sea have been reported safe and returning back safely.<br/><br/>More than one thousand fishing boats of Saurashtra have already returned on Veraval coast.<br/><br/>About 100 boats of South Gujarat have also returned safely at Valsad and Daman. Meanwhile, crops in South Gujarat have damaged due to heavy un-seasonal rain.<br/><br/>Water logging in sugar cane farms has forced sugar factories to close the production in Navasari district.
