Philippines: Death toll from tropical storm climbs to 182

In the Philippines, the death toll from a tropical storm has risen to 182 with over 150 people still missing. Police said, rescuers pulled dozens of bodies from a swollen river. <br/><br/>Tropical Storm Tembin has lashed the nation's second-largest island of Mindanao since yesterday, triggering flash floods and mudslides. <br/>'<br/>Local police said, atleast 127 people were killed with over 70 missing in hardest hit provinces of Tubod, Salvador and Sapad in Lanao del Norte. In Mindanao's Zamboanga peninsula, 28 persons lost their lives with over 80 still missing.<br/><br/>The Philippines is pummelled by 20 major storms each year on average, many of them deadly. But Mindanao, home to 20 million people, is rarely hit by these cyclones.
