Philippine forces have killed at least 4 suspected Muslim militants in a central resort province where troops foiled possible kidnapping and bombing plots by extremists this month. <br/><br/>Military chief of staff Gen. Eduardo Ano said that army troops and police killed ring leader Joselito Melloria and three more militants in a gun battle near Clarin town in Bohol province. <br/><br/>Ano said that troops were continuing to hunt down the other militants. Melloria had guided Abu Sayyaf militants from their jungle encampments in the country's south to his Bohol village to carry out possible ransom kidnappings and bombings. The United States and the Philippines list Abu Sayyaf as a terrorist organisation.
