In Jammu and Kashmir, the 5th phase of Panchayat elections in nine blocks of Jammu and Kashmir divisions is going on smoothly amid tight security. The polling began at 8 am and is progressing in five blocks of Jammu Division and four blocks of Kashmir division. Over 40% polling was reported till 11.30 a.m in Basohli block of the Kathua district. In Pancheri block of Udhampur district People were seen standing in long queues right from the early morning to cast their votes. About 65% polling was recorded till 12.30 noon in Arnas block of Reasi district. Same enthusiasm was seen among the voters of Budhal and Darhal blocks of Rajouri district where 42 % polling was reported till noon.
