Petroleum Minister Pradhan calls upon people of the country to consume petroleum products judiciously

Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has called upon the people of the country to consume petroleum products judiciously. He was speaking at the inaugural function of Oil and Gas Conservation Fortnight organised by Petroleum Conservation Research Association in New Delhi today. Administering the oath of conservation, Mr Pradhan underlined the ill effects of burning of biomass on health and environment. He appealed to everyone to switch to cleaner fuels like LPG, PNG and CNG and switch off the engines of their car during traffic jams.<br/><br/>The Minister said, special drives will be run by Oil and Gas companies to equip 60 additional petrol pumps with CNG and making 1700 villages and 100 towns smoke free by providing LPG connections. Mr Pradhan flagged off a publicity van to spread conservation awareness and also gave away prizes to national school winners of essay and painting competition.
