Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana for West Bengal in Kolkata this afternoon. The scheme is aimed at providing low cost and subsidized Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) connections to Below Poverty Line families throughout the country. <br/><br/>The Government has already spent around 2,000 crore rupees till now on the scheme in different parts of the country and it aims to allocate 8,000 crore rupees to be spent on the scheme within the next three years. The aim of the scheme is to provide smokeless kitchens in poor households of rural and urban India.
