Petroleum Minister launches Energy Conservation fortnight

The Petroleum Minister Mr Murli Deora today launched Energy Conservation fortnight at a special function in New Delhi. The Minister administered a pledge to the people present in the Vigyan Bhavan especially students to conserve energy for future. Mr Deora while hailing the efforts of Petroleum Conservation Research Organisation, which has organised the event, asserted that it is important to conserve energy for its better use. He reiterated that energy conserved is energy produced. The Minister of State for Petroleum Mr Jitin Prasad and other senior officials of the Oil and Gas Ministry were also present on the occasion apart from a large number of students. AIR correspondent reports that during the two week long event the focus will be on promoting efficient energy utilisation and environment protection.
