All the petrol pumps in the national capital are closed today as petrol pump dealers are protesting rise in the VAT. The dealers are protesting the increase of VAT on diesel from 12.5 to 20 percent in Delhi. The increase in VAT has made diesel costlier by four rupees compared to Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Delhi Petrol Diesel Association President Atul Peshawania told AIR that the diesel sales have dropped by more than 40 percent in the capital because of the increase in VAT rate. He said they want equal VAT rate on diesel in all the neighbouring states. People are facing lots of problems as petrol pumps are on strike today. <br/>
