Petrol prices have been increased by one rupee 40 paise per litre. The revised rate will come in to effect from midnight tonight.

In a statement, Indian Oil Corporation said petrol in Delhi will now cost 70 rupees and 74 paise per litre, while in Mumbai it will be 77 rupees and 66 paise.

In Kolkata, the new rates will be 78 rupees and 34 paise and in Chennai, it will be 73 rupees and 95 pasie per litre.

The rates have been revised following the rise in international oil prices and depreciation in rupee.
