Petrol will become costlier by Rs. 1.34 per litre and diesel by Rs. 2.37. The new rates will come into effect from midnight tonight. In Delhi, Petrol will cost 66 rupees 45 paise. It will cost Rs. 69.8 paise in Kolkata, Rs. 72.83 in Mumbai and Rs. 65.96 in Chennai. The new rates of Diesel will be Rs. 55.38 in Delhi, Rs. 57.64 in Kolkata, Rs. 61.5 paise in Mumbai and Rs. 56.95 in Chennai.The Indian Oil Corporation press release said that the price hike was warranted by current level of international prices of Petrol and Diesel and rupee-dollar exchange rate.
