Petrol price has been hiked by 64 paise a litre while diesel price lowered by one rupee 35 paise a litre including State levies. The new rates will come into effect from midnight tonight. With this, now petrol will cost 66 rupees 93 paise a litre in Delhi, 74 rupees 42 paise in Kolkata, 74 rupees 78 paise in Mumbai while it will be 70 rupees 12 paise per litre in Chennai. On the other hand, the diesel will cost 50 rupees 93 paise per litre in Delhi, 55 rupees 45 paise in Kolkata, 58 rupees 37 paise in Mumbai and 54 rupees 29 paise in Chennai. Indian Oil Corporation in a statement said, the price of petrol was revised in view of the increase in the crude prices in International market while diesel was decreased due to downward revision in prices of diesel.
