Diesel price has been lowered by Rs 1.35 a litre while petrol price hiked by 64 paise a litre including State levies. The new rates came into effect from last midnight. With this change, the diesel is selling Rs 50.93 per litre in Delhi, Rs 55.45 in Kolkata, Rs 58.37 in Mumbai and Rs 54.29 in Chennai. On the other hand, petrol now cost Rs 66.93 a litre in Delhi, Rs 74.42 in Kolkata, Rs 74.78 in Mumbai and Rs 70.12 per litre in Chennai. Indian Oil Corporation in a statement said, the price of petrol was revised in view of the increase in the crude prices in international market while diesel was decreased due to downward revision in prices of diesel.
