Petrol price has been increased by 41 paise per litre and Diesel by a little less than 10 paise per litre excluding VAT.The revised price of petrol includes 21 paise per litre increase in dealer's commission and 20 paise per litre increase in retail selling price. The new rate of petrol will come into force from midnight tonight while the revised rate of diesel will be applicable with immediate effect.In a statement, Indian Oil Corporation said, the price of petrol has been increased on account of hike in price of petrol in international market and weakening of rupees and increased in the commission payable to dealers for selling the fuel. While, Diesel price has also been revised after the government raised the commission payable to dealers.
