Petrol price has been increased by 13 paise per litre, while diesel price slashed by 12 paise a litre excluding state levies. The new rate will come into effect midnight tonight. With this Petrol will now cost 66 rupees 10 paise a litre in Delhi, 68 rupees 81 paise in Kolkata, 72 rupees 46 paise in Mumbai and 65 rupees 58 paise in Chennai. For diesel, the consumer will have to pay 54 rupees 57 paise per litre in Delhi, 56 rupees 81 paise in Kolkata, 60 rupees 17 paise in Mumbai and 56 rupees 10 paise in Chennai. In a statement, Indian Oil Corporation said, the international prices of petrol and diesel and rupee-dollar exchange rate warrant an increase in petrol and decrease in diesel prices.
