Petrol price was today hiked marginally by 29 paise per litre and diesel by 20 paise following increase in commission paid to petrol pump dealers.

Petrol in Delhi from today costs 68.19 rupees per litre as against 67.90 previously. Similarly, diesel rates have been hiked to47.15 rupees per litre from 46.95.

Our correspondent reports, rates will vary in states due to differential in local sales tax or VAT rates. The decision to hike dealers commission was taken on Thursday but orders were issued last night.
