Oil marketing companies have increased the prices of petrol and diesel. Petrol price has been increased by 3 rupees, 18 paise per litre and diesel by 3 rupees, 9 paise per litre including state levies. The new rates came into effect midnight last night.Indian Oil Corporation in a statement said that the prices of these two fuels have been hiked in view of the steep increase in international price of crude oil as well as due to the slight depreciation in the exchange rate of rupee value against dollar.
