Petrol dearer by 75 paise per litre, diesel 50 paise

Petrol price has been hiked by 75 paise a litre and diesel 50 paise per litre. Indian Oil Corporation in a statement said that petrol now costs 63 rupees and 99 paise per litre in Delhi, 71 rupees and 29 paise in Kolkata, 70 rupees and 68 paise in Mumbai and 66 rupees and 85 paise in Chennai.The new price of diesel 50 rupees 25 paise per litre in Delhi, 54 rupees 56 paise in Kolkata, 56 rupees 66 paise in Mumbai and 53 rupees 53 paise in Chennai.The company cut the price of LPG gas (LPG) that consumers have to buy beyond their quota of nine subsidised cylinders in a year, by 45 rupees per cylinder.With this, the Non-subsidised domestic LPG in Delhi will now cost 802 rupees per 14.2-kg cylinder as against 847 rupees. AIR correspondent reports that the current increase in the petrol price was necessitated due to depreciation of rupee against dollar.The petrol prices were last reduced by two rupees and 50 paise per litre on the 1st of last month.
