In Kerala the percentage of women who got employment under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act is much more than the national average. As per the latest statistics, of all the beneficiaries in the state 83.75 per cent are women. At the same time, the percentage SC & ST beneficiaries of Kerala are less than the national average. However, out of 330.41 crore rupees allocated for the scheme the state could utilize only 140.9 crore rupees this fiscal.<br/>
