<span style="color: #222222;">Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur has said that people to people and government to government contact between India and Bangladesh is the key to further strengthening the ties between the two countries.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Talking about the joint celebration of the events on the occasion of the golden jubilee of the liberation of Bangladesh, I&B Minister said that the biopic on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is almost 75 percent complete and it is expected to be completed by March next year, if the COVID situation permits.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur held a meeting with his Bangladeshi counterpart Dr. Hasan Mahmud in Delhi on Tuesday. Dr. Hasan Mahmud is currently on an official visit to India.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">During the meeting the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest to further strengthen the strong ties between the two countries in areas of broadcasting and entertainment.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">They also discussed strengthening people to people contact and exploring the potential of a soft power interface between the two countries, said a Press Release of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Both sides also agreed to proactively pursue the production of the documentary film on 'Liberation of Bangladesh in 1971'.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Strengthening of ties between the two countries in the areas of digital entertainment and screening of films of each other's country through mutual exchange was also discussed during the meeting.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Singh Thakur thanked the government of Bangladesh for its active participation in the 51st International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in January and invited renewed participation in the forthcoming IFFI to be held in Goa in November this year.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">India and Bangladesh also discussed the celebration of 'Maitri Diwas' on 6 December for which a mutually accepted action plan would be worked out.</span><br />
