In Kerala, people living in the forest areas of wild life sanctuaries are to be relocated to protect wild life. State Forest Minister Binoy Vishwom said in Thiruvananthapuram the relocation will be done with Central assistance. He said fifty five such families of Wyanad district will be shifted in the first phase spending 5.5 crore rupees. Ten lakh rupees will be given to each family willing to move out of the forest areas. Kerala government is planning to spend an amount of 88 cores in different phases to relocate these people. National Tiger Conservation Authority is willing to release more funds to the state for this.
