A day after CBI submitted its report giving clean chit to the police and claiming that the two young women Asiya and Nelofar had died due to drowning, normal life in Kashmir valley was thrown out of gear today due to a protest strike called by Majlis-E-Mashawarat a local action committee of Shopian. Thousands took to streets in Shopian town denouncing the CBI report and terming it a cover up. Clashes also broke out and some houses were gutted. Traffic was off the roads and shops and business establishments remained closed due to bandh in the valley. Meanwhile, the leader of the opposition in the assembly Mehbooba Mufti has appealed President Pratibha Patil and UPA Chairperson Mrs.Sonia Gandhi to intervene in the matter so that justice is delivered in the Shopian case.<br/>
