People seeking child adoption should approach only govt listed agencies: Former CEO CARA

<span style="color: #222222;">In the ongoing pandemic many children have lost their parents.</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">Several messages have been circulating on various social media platforms for their adoption.</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">Talking to All India Radio News, Former CEO Central Adoption Resource Authority, CARA Col Deepak Kumar says there are only two ways to adopt a child in India legally.</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">The first one is JJ Care and Protection of children Act 2015 and the other one is Hindu Adoption and Maintenance Act.</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">He said the current circumstances the Adoption falls under JJ Act.</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">AIR correspondent reports, Col Deepak urged people not to fall for misleading information on social media regarding the adoption of children and only approach the listed agencies by the government to adopt a child.</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">Col Deepak also informed that if anyone is aware of any child who has been illegally adopted then they should immediately report the incident to the authorities for the safety of the child.</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">Col Deepak added government has devised several ways and means to support such children who are being orphaned in the pandemic.</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />” <span style="color: #222222;">He urged people not to circulate messages on social media for adoption of children, rather local authorities should be informed for adequate action.</span><br />
