People retiring from public life should contribute to society through experiences: PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said people in public life should not retire and should contribute to the society through their experiences. Speaking at the farewell ceremony of retiring Rajya Sabha Members at Parliament House in New Delhi this evening, Mr. Modi said, the MPs are leaving with treasures of knowledge which should be spread to every nook and corner of the country. Remembering former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's passion for teaching, Mr. Modi said, after leaving the Rashtrapati Bhavan Dr. Kalam went to teach students the work he liked most. He said, spirit is the biggest strength. <br/><br/>Presiding over the function Vice President Mohammed Hamid Ansari said, retirement from the House is not literally the retirement from life and hoped that the members will remain busy in public service. <br/><br/>The function was organized by the Rajya Sabha Secretariat to felicitate MPs who have already retired and are retiring from the Rajya Sabha.
