In Odisha, people of Daspalla in Nayagarh district are fondly celebrating the famous Lanka Podi festival. The chief attraction of the 12 days long festival is the slaying of demon king Ravana which is enacted by setting a huge effigy of Ravan on fire, known as 'Ravan Podi'. Thousands of onlookers from near and far witnessed Ravan Podi which was celebrated yesterday.
