Pendency of cases in Supreme Court come down: Sadananda Gowda

Government has informed that the pendency of cases in Supreme Court has come down from 62,791 to around 61 thousand matters as on 29th of last month. Union Minister of Ministry of Law and Justice D. V. Sadananda Gowda said in a written reply in Lok Sabha today. He said, there is no proposal at present to increase the strength of Judges of Supreme Court or to increase their retirement age. <br/><br/>The Minister informed, the approved strength of Judges in Supreme Court is 31 and 28 Judges are in place. Mr Gowda said three posts of Judges of Supreme Court were vacant as on 1st of this month.
