Peaceful voting underway in Valley; NC Prez Abdullah seeking re-election

In Kashmir valley peaceful and orderly polling is on in Srinagar Parliamentary constituency. An average 10 percent polling was reported in the constituency in first 4 hours from where union minister and National Conference president Dr.Farooq Abdullah is seeking re-election.

Our correspondent reports that amid high security and a boycott call by separatists, voters seem to be keeping their commitment to Democratic process.

The polling trend though mixed, with rural segments recording around 20% polling as compared to 7% in urban areas in the first 4 hours.

In Srinagar city voters have been just trickling to booths. in Ganderbal and Badgam district long queues of voters were seen in many places.
