Peaceful voting for 4th phase of Assembly polls is underway in WB

In West Bengal, peaceful voting is on for the fourth phase of Assembly elections in 63 seats covering East Midnapore, Howrah, Hooghly and parts of Burdwan districts. Around 40 per cent polling was recorded in the first four hours. The State Chief Electoral Officer, Mr. Sunil Gupta told our Kolkata Correspondent that two Presiding Officers and two Polling Officers have been removed for violation of Model Code of Conduct and also for illness. 57 Electronic Voting Machines were also replaced from various polling booths due to technical snags. No major untoward incident has so far been reported.
