India today reiterated its desire to see a stable and prosperous Pakistan living in peace with itself and the world. Immediately after landing in Islamabad, External Affairs Minister SM Krishna said that a peacefull Pakistan will be in the best interest of everyone.

Mr. Krishna is in Pakistan to review the last round of the bilateral dialogue with Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar. Ms. Khar had extended an invitation to Mr. Krishna to visit Pakistan last year when she visited India.

Mr. Krishna said, the leadership of India and Pakistan have mandated building of trust and confidence between the two countries. He said, they are committed to finding solutions to all issues that have beset the bilateral relationship through peaceful bilateral dialogue. He said, he looks to the future where the two countries are able to live together in an atmosphere of friendliness and all-round cooperation, free from terror and violence.

On the eve of his visit, Mr Krishna had said that New Delhi is committed to resolving all issues with Pakistan through bilateral dialogue in an atmosphere free from terror and violence.

Our Correspondent accompanying the External Affairs Minister, reports that all the bilateral issues will come up for discussion in Mr. Krishna’s meeting with Ms. Khar and other leaders but terrorism and bringing the perpetrators of 26/11 Mumbai attacks to book, will be the core concerns of New Delhi.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Secretaries of the two countries are meeting now to prepare for tomorrow’s talks between the two Ministers. Eight technical sub-groups of the India-Pakistan Joint Commission met yesterday to discuss prospects for cooperation in less contentious areas like agriculture and health. The experts provided inputs for a meeting of the Plenary of the Joint Commission that will be co-chaired by the two Foreign Ministers tomorrow.
