The Punjab Bandh has remained peaceful. There is no report of any untoward incident from any part of the state. The Bandh call was given by Panthic Sikh organisations in protest against the death of a protestor during the alleged police firing on Saturday in Ludhiana.<br/><br/>AIR Correspondent reports, Punjab Bandh has remained peaceful amid high alert. Rail traffic was normal but road traffic was lesser than usual days. Markets were almost closed. Essential services including medical facilities had been exempted from the Bandh.<br/><br/>Ludhiana Municipal area is still under curfew. However, according Inspector General, Jalandhar Range, Mr. Sanjeev Kalra three hours relaxation has been given in Sarabha Nagar, Model Town and Police Division No. Five from 5-00 pm to 8-00 pm.<br/><br/>Most of the private schools and colleges in other parts of the state remained closed. However, there are reports of opening of govt. schools in Jalandhar and some other districts but the attendance was quite less.<br/>Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today said that his party will give a statement in the State Assembly, on Tuesday on the recent violence in Ludhiana. Whereas opposition Congress has planned bring in an adjournment motion on the issue.
