Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf said today that India and Pakistan stand to gain much from peace but are losing out because of the confrontationist approach.<br/><br/>Terming the Indo-Pak peace process as the most critical thing, Musharraf, said peace is crucial both for bilateral and regional gains. <br/><br/>On the developments in Pakistan, he told CNN that his country at the moment appeared to be failing as a political democracy. He said democracy in Pakistan has not really ever been very successful. <br/><br/>The former military ruler said, to be successful, it is expected of the democratically-elected governments to perform for the country.
