In Jammu and Kashmir, the main Opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, members today tried to disrupt the Proceedings of the Legislative Assembly as soon as the Question Hour began. They were demanding suspension of the Question Hour and taking up their Adjournment Motion which was moved yesterday by the PDP legislature party leader Mehbooba Mufti to discuss what they had described ‘extra ordinary situation’ that has arisen due to the notices issues by the State Accountability Commission to Chief Minister, Advisors, Various Chairpersons/Vice Chairpersons of Boards and Corporations and two Cabinet Ministers. As the Speaker Mohd. Akbar Lone did not agree to their plea to suspend the Question Hour, PDP Members stood up and continued to raise slogans against the Government , trooped into the Well of the House and then staged a walkout. Later, talking to media persons, PDP Legislature Party Leader Mehbooba Mufti alleged that Government is shying away from the discussion as it is neck deep involved in corruption. She alleged that the funds from the Centre for the development and welfare of the common masses are being swindled away by the Cabinet Ministers. In the Legislative Council PDP members also tried to disrupt the Question Hour. However, amid din, the Acting Chairman of the Council Amrit Malhotra continued with the Question Hour.
