PDP calls legislative party meeting tomorrow in Srinagar on J&K govt formation

The Peoples Democratic Party is convening its Legislative party meeting tomorrow in Srinagar to discuss the future course of action regarding government formation in J&K while continuing its alliance with BJP. PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti today arrived in Srinagar from New Delhi.<br/><br/>PDP chief Spokesman Dr Mehboob Begh said the party would announce its future course of action and the next step after its legislature party meeting which is the proper forum to take a call on such issues.<br/><br/>The decision to hold all important meet is to discuss the deliberations of PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti's meeting with PM Narendra Modi yesterday in New Delhi. The meeting is likely to choose its Legislature Party leader and Mehbooba Mufti is set to be the chief ministerial candidate.<br/><br/>BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav today said PDP has to make the next move towards government formation process. The last round of talks between the two parties would follow after clear decision taken by the PDP Legislative Party.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, the State Governor NN Vohra has called separate meetings with the presidents of the Peoples Democratic Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party in Jammu on Friday.<br/><br/>BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav clarified that BJP has not accepted any new condition from the PDP and Mehbooba Mufti did not put any condition before PM Modi. <br/><br/>This is being seen as stark departure from PDP's earlier position that it had been talking for over ten weeks now. The main opposition National Conference, Congress and others have already charged PDP of sell out on principles and sought explanation regarding new concessions granted or assurances given by Prime Minister other than that already forms part of Agenda of Alliance between the two parties. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, the Governor's call to have separate meetings with PDP and BJP presidents on Friday, is an indication that the State may have new government soon.
