PCPIA urges centre, ULFA to resolve all issues through dialogue

The People’s Committee for Peace Initiatives in Assam (PCPIA) has urged the centre and the extremist outfit, United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) to come together and resolve all issues through dialogue. The PCPIA, a forum of 28 democratic organizations of Assam has demanded early peaceful solution in the greater interest of the people of the state. In a memorandum to the Union Home Minister, Mr. P. Chidambaram, the group has called for restarting the peace process with the ULFA. Meanwhile, the vice-chairman of ULFA’s ceasefire unit, Prabal Neog has also called upon the extremist outfit ULFA and the Central Government to resume negotiation to find a solution to the long-standing insurgency problem in the State. He said that the ULFA leadership should not further delay the talk process respecting the people’s sentiment.<br/>
