The Planning Commission has approved an annual Plan size worth of 1700 crore rupees for Mizoram for the year 2011-12. An official release says, the decision to this effect was taken at a meeting between Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Chief Minister of Mizoram, Lal Thanhawla in New Delhi today. Complimenting the State on Plan performance, Ahluwalia said that the Commission is in the process of finalizing the approach for Twelfth Plan and it will shortly hold regional consultations with the State governments. He also said that the State has achieved significant progress in the sectors of Road Transport, Power, Education and Health.
