NCP Chief Sharad Pawar has expressed regret over his double voting remarks. Party Spokesman Nawab Malik said, Mr. Pawar has replied to the Election Commission notice which was issued on complaints filed by some opposition parties. Mr Malik expressed confidence that the Election Commission will accept Mr. Pawar's explanation and treat it as a close chapter.

Addressing Mathadi workers in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, Mr. Pawar had asked them to take advantage of the multi-phase polling in the state by voting twice, first at their home towns and then at the places of works. Mr.Pawar also asked them to erase the indelible ink applied to the forefinger.
