The Chief Minister of Karnataka B S Yeddyurappa informed in Bangalore today that Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar has agreed for market intervention by declaring minimum support price for Paddy in the State. The Chief Minister said he spoke to the Union Agriculture Minister today, who was sympathetic to the plight of paddy growers facing difficulties due to fall in the prices. Yeddyurappa said A Grade paddy will be paid 1030 rupees per quintal and other varieties will be paid 1000 rupees per quintal. He added that the State Government will release immediately 80 Crore rupees to APMC yards to start procurement without waiting for assistance to arrive from the Central Government. On this occasion the Chief Minister also informed that Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel has agreed to inaugurate the new airport in Mysore on May 15. The Union Minister will also inaugurate the new terminal building in the Mangalore airport on the same day. The Secretary, Civil Aviation of Central Government has been requested to urgently start airline operations in Belgaum and Bidar, he added. <br/>
