At Kannur, Kerala, on Tuesday, Arjuna Awardee Sinimole Paulose, was chosen as the 'best state sportsperson' for the prestigious Jimmy George Foundation award, 2010.Announcing this in Kannur, Jose George, Chairman, Jimmy George Foundation, said that the award carrying a cash prize of 25, 000 rupees and a statuette, will be bestowed on the athlete during the first week of December at nearby Theravoor in Kannur district.The five-member judging panel consisted of Jose George, Olympian Suresh Babu, Robert Bobby George, D Deva Prasad and Sebastian George. A Senior Accounts Officer in Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, Sinimole was the national champion consecutively for three years in 2006, 2007 and 2008 in the 800 metres and 1500 metres.Hailing from Pambakuda in Ernakulam District, Sinimole had won the Asian All Star meet 1500 gold medal in 2008 and 2010. In 2008 Sinimole was bestowed with the Arjuna Award.
